On 21 April a fantastic panel of speakers gathered at the Jerwood Space, along with a full room of young arts professionals interested in the social impact the arts can have on our lives. Julian West (Creative leader and Head of Open Academy, Royal Academy of Music), who chaired the session, had prepared some great questions about how to measure the impact of the arts, which projects worked well in the past and what the future of the 'social' arts could look like. Speakers Caro Howell (Director, Foundling Museum), Clare Lovett (Creative Learning & Arts Engagement Consultant) and Bridget Rennie (Director of Development, Streetwise Opera) contributed inspiring examples and answered questions from the floor. Afterwards, speakers and audience members came together at The Bar at the Union Street Café for a drink and some networking.
