Diversity in the arts workforce: Now but how? | 12th October 2016 | 7PM
Location: Soho Works, 56 Shoreditch High Street, London E1 6JJ
As Arts Council England’s Creative Case for Diversity so succinctly puts it: “Diversity is one of the most important issues of our age. We live in a remarkably diverse society, and how we evolve and face the challenges of the future will depend on how we can use the creative resources that diversity gifts us.â€
So just what is happening to embrace the diversity of our society in the arts and what needs to happen to embed best practice in years to come?
Join Chi-chi Nwanoku, founder of Chineke! Foundation, Mwila Mulenshi, Education Lead at Creative Access and Milica Robson, Senior Relationship Manager for Diversity at Arts Council England as they discuss the present and the future of diversity in the arts, how organisations currently measure the diversity of their workforce, initiatives and schemes to tackle the issue and what we need to do to embed better practice in reaching individuals who are under-represented. Deborah Williams, Diversity expert, will chair the event.
Doors open at 6.30PM. This talk will include a Q&A and will be followed by our usual networking drinks.
