We're recruiting new marketing committee members ahead of our 2024/2025 season of events! 

Roles: Marketing Specialists and Marketing Assistants

What is YPIA?

Founded in 2008, Young People in the Arts (YPIA) is a volunteer-run networking and professional development organisation for those at the outset of their careers in the arts & culture sector. We host networking events, talks, debates, and more informal meetups.

Our Vision is that every early-career arts professional has the practical support they need to thrive in the arts & culture sector.

Our Mission is that we exist to inspire, connect, and support young people in the arts, in order to build a more successful, sustainable and resilient sector

About the roles

We are rebranding and want people who can come and help us rebuild the marketing department.

We are hiring three Marketing Specialists, as detailed below. Each of these roles we are looking for someone with experience in the area, but we prioritise early career candidates, so this experience can look very different. If you have made your own website before, or have a successful TikTok, we would love to hear from you.

All report to: Director of Communications

Design Specialist

  • We are redesigning our website and rebranding, so we want someone with experience in this area to support alongside while gaining some experience for your CV
  • New style rebranding of graphics for instagram and website content
  • Keep the YPIA website up to date


Social Media Specialist

  • We are looking to create and build a TikTok account from scratch. Anyone who has experience creating and posting TikToks and managing their accounts would be great to hear from
  • Content to transfer over to instagram as well


Communications Specialist

  • We send out monthly newsletters via Mailchimp and are looking for someone to lead on this for the organisation
  • Create blog content for the YPIA blog and podcast 

All Marketing Specialist roles include:

  • Lead on the promotion of 2 to 3 events across the 2024-2025 season
  • Manage marketing assistants
  • Maintain social media presence on LinkedIn
  • Curate content for the YPIA Blog
  • Assist with the creation and promotion of the YPIA Podcast
  • Maintain marketing contacts and identify reciprocal marketing opportunities
  • Help shape our marketing strategy
  • Develop clear and compelling copy for distribution through our website and newsletter
  • Attend YPIA events throughout the season, capturing images for promotional use
  • You’ll use: Website CMS; Canva; Mailchimp; SurveyMonkey; Anchor; Zoom; Whatsapp;Google Workspace; and all major social media platforms


Marketing Assistant

Reports to: Marketing Specialists + Director of Communications

We are rebranding and want people who can come and help us rebuild the marketing department. As a voluntary role, we want to prioritise you and your learning in this position and are open to your input in what work you do if there is anything in particular you want to learn about. We are recruiting for specialists in the field, who you will learn from and work directly with throughout your time with us.

Areas you will be working across (with support):

  • Increasing engagement on our existing Instagram
  • Creating and building a brand new Tiktok account
  • Creating and sharing a monthly newsletter
  • Promoting our events across all of these platforms

Your role may include:

  • Contribute and implement marketing strategy for 2 to 3 events across the 2024-2025 season
  • Develop clear and compelling copy for distribution through our website and newsletter
  • Maintain social media presence across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Keep the YPIA website up to date
  • Share access details with attendees ahead of events and field queries
  • Produce guestlists for the event team, keeping an eye on last-minute sign-ups
  • Share event-related resources, recordings and surveys with attendees post-event
  • Assist with the promotion of the YPIA Blog and YPIA Podcast
  • Help implement our marketing strategy
  • Attend YPIA events throughout the season, capturing images for promotional use
  • You’ll use: Website CMS; Canva; Mailchimp; SurveyMonkey; Anchor; Zoom; Whatsapp;Google Workspace; and all major social media platforms

We are open to your input and want to create a really beneficial role for you. We are offering these positions as an initial six-month contract, with the opportunity to extend. If you are studying and are only able to support us over summer, this is possible, but please mention this in your application.
